Moedersterfte

Lage en hoge leeftijd en niet-westerse herkomst zijn risicofactoren voor moedersterfte

De (Aantal vrouwen overleden ten gevolge van complicaties van zwangerschap, bevalling en kraambed (binnen 42 dagen na beëindiging van een zwangerschap). Deze sterftemaat wordt uitgedrukt per 100.000 levendgeborenen.) is hoger bij tienermoeders (15 tot en met 19 jaar) en bij moeders met een hogere leeftijd, vooral boven de 45 jaar. Ook is de sterfte hoger bij moeders met een niet-westerse herkomst, vooral moeders van Surinaamse of Antilliaanse herkomst.
